Train live from anywhere with real-time coaching in Tai Chi, Qi Gong/Nei Gong, and Lung Ying fundamentals. Sessions are tailored to your body, goals, and experience—serious training in a supportive environment.
Book your session below to receive confirmation and Zoom details.
You are standing at the threshold. When you book a session with Kindred Fist, you are not simply signing up for a 60-minute workout—you are stepping into a centuries-old tradition.
The Hakka martial arts we practice have not been watered down for the modern commercial gym. Whether you are seeking the internal healing of Tai Chi or the explosive, battle-tested reality of Lung Ying, these systems have been forged through centuries of survival in Southern China.
Although we do not care about your current physical condition; we also care about your dedication. Sifu Alfred will meet you exactly where you are, but he will not lower the standard.
Empty your cup. Choose your path below, secure your time on the training floor, and prepare to inherit the lineage.

What you need:
Discipline begins before the first technique is ever thrown. To maintain the highest standard of instruction and respect for Sifu Alfred’s time, the following regulations apply to all Kindred Fist training sessions across all platforms, including: Dragon Kung Fu (Lung Ying), Tai Chi & Qi Gong, Weapons Training, and Self-Defense.
A welcoming first session to assess goals, posture, breathing, and experience. You’ll leave with a clear starting plan and recommended next steps (private coaching, group class, and/or online course path).
Focused coaching and real-time corrections. Best for refining one skill: alignment, breath timing, rooting, stepping, structure, or power mechanics.
Deep coaching session with layered corrections and progressions. Best for skill-building plus a clear weekly practice plan.
Train with the Kindred Fist community. Includes warm-up, fundamentals, a focused drill, and a closing breath/recovery practice. Intensity is scalable.
Alignment, sung (鬆), stepping, sensitivity, and practical structure. Ideal for students who want calm skill that holds under pressure.
Breath method, regulation under effort, recovery, and internal connection. Ideal for building the foundation that supports martial function.
Stance, structure, short power mechanics, and Sup Luk Dung checkpoints—trained with traditional principles and clear progressions.
Distance, entry, timing, bridging and clinch principles, and training methods that translate. We focus on structure-first, safe pressure, and functional outcomes.
For training partners who want coaching on drill selection, safety, timing, roles, and progression. Bring your questions and we’ll build a clean training plan you can repeat.

"Discipline is the only bridge between intention and true mastery. The lineage is waiting, but you must take the first step. Review our training schedule, find your time, and commit to the floor."

To the Dedicated Student:
My personal journey in Lung Ying Kuen (Dragon Shape Fist) was forged through hands-on experience. My teachers were physically present to adjust my stance, test my root, and provide the physical pressure necessary to truly understand Mor Kiao (rubbing bridges) and explosive power. Traditional martial arts were never designed to be learned from a book or through a digital portal.
By stepping into this online Kwoon, you must understand and accept the fundamental limitations of this format, and the heightened responsibility it places on your shoulders.
Through a screen, I can see your alignment, but I cannot feel your energy, your tension, or your root. Because this hands-on feedback is missing, my ability to correct you is limited to what the camera captures. You must become your own harshest critic.
In a physical school, the energy of the room carries you through a hard workout. In your living room or garage, you are entirely alone. If you do not approach your practice with the highest level of self-respect, discipline, and strict adherence to the principles we discuss, your progress will stagnate, and you will eventually quit.
If you do not check in with me frequently, submit your video evaluations, and ask questions, it becomes impossible for me to gauge your true progress. For a traditional teacher, this is the greatest challenge of the digital age. Do not hide in the background. Communicate your struggles and your breakthroughs.
While this platform provides the blueprint, it cannot replace the physical touch of a teacher. If and when it is possible, you are strongly expected and encouraged to make the effort to meet with me in person for hands-on corrections, workshops, or private physical evaluations.
“Iron sharpens iron.” You are highly encouraged to connect with other martial artists or fellow online students in your local area. Find a trusted training partner. You need someone to cross bridges with, to test your structure, and to encourage you when your solo training feels heavy.
I have read and understood the realities of training a traditional martial art through an online portal. I accept that my progress is entirely dependent on my own discipline, self-awareness, and willingness to communicate with my instructor. I understand the physical limitations of my teacher in this medium, and I commit to seeking out hands-on correction and local training partners to supplement my digital education.
Please reach us at kindredfist@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Not at all. Our curriculum is structured to guide absolute beginners from their very first stance all the way to advanced mastery. For experienced martial artists coming from other styles, our detailed breakdowns of structural mechanics and internal power will profoundly deepen your existing knowledge.
Am I too old or out of shape to begin training? You are never too old to begin cultivating your health and structure. Traditional Chinese martial arts were designed for lifelong practice. If you are looking for gentle, restorative movement, our Tai Chi and Qi Gong tracks are perfect for building balance, flexibility, and healing injuries. If you are looking for rigorous physical conditioning, our Lung Ying (Dragon Fist) track will safely build your strength and endurance over time.
Think of them as the complete spectrum of Yin and Yang.
Yes. In fact, we highly encourage it. In traditional Kung Fu, true mastery requires the balance of hard and soft. Practicing Qi Gong and Tai Chi will actively improve the internal power and breath control required for your Lung Ying combat techniques.
Distance is no longer a barrier to authentic training. Our online academy features high-definition, multi-angle video lessons that break down every technique frame-by-frame. Unlike just watching random videos on the internet, our courses are highly structured. You will learn the exact same curriculum, in the exact same order, as you would in a physical Kwoon.
How much physical space do I need to train at home? Because Lung Ying, Tai Chi, and Hakka martial arts are rooted in close-quarter mechanics, you do not need a massive gymnasium. A clear 6x6 foot space in your living room, garage, or backyard is more than enough room to master your stances, forms, and breath-work.
No heavy bags or expensive gear are required to begin. All you need is comfortable, loose-fitting clothing, flat-soled shoes (or bare feet), and a computer, tablet, or smartphone to stream the lessons and record your video assignments.
We do not let our students train in the dark. Throughout the curriculum, you are required to submit Video Assignments demonstrating the forms and mechanics you have learned. Sifu Alfred personally reviews these submissions to ensure your structure is correct before unlocking the next level of your training.
Yes. For students who want to rapidly accelerate their progress or refine their technique under direct supervision, Sifu Alfred offers private, 1-on-1 online coaching sessions. We also offer interactive group classes so you can train live with the rest of the Kindred Fist community.
In traditional Chinese martial arts, we do not use the modern colored belt system. Progression is measured through the mastery of specific forms, the development of internal power, and the cultivation of Wu De (martial morality). Your journey is a lifelong pursuit of personal excellence, not a race for a piece of fabric.
