"Martial arts is not a hobby—it is a lifelong vow to personal excellence. Whether you are seeking reality-based self-defense, deep internal healing, or an authentic community of dedicated practitioners, discover why stepping onto the Kindred Fist path will change the way you walk through the world."
There are countless gyms where you can pay a fee to sweat for an hour. Kindred Fist is not one of them. We are a traditional martial arts family dedicated to preserving the rare, battle-tested systems of the Hakka people.
When you choose to train with us, you are not buying a membership; you are earning a place in a lineage. Here is what separates the Kindred Fist experience from the rest:

In today’s fast-paced world, martial arts are often reduced to quick fitness routines or competitive sports. At Kindred Fist, we preserve a different path. We believe that authentic, traditional martial arts are not just a physical activity—they are a comprehensive blueprint for lifelong mastery of the mind, body, and character.
When you choose to train in the traditional ways of Southern Dragon Fist or Tai Chi, you are not just learning how to move; you are learning how to live.
Here is how our traditional perspective transforms our students:
The Hakka arts—particularly Southern Dragon (Lung Ying)—are rare. Many modern schools have watered down their curriculum for mass appeal, prioritizing trophies and performance over reality. We refuse to compromise. You will learn the exact biomechanics, breathing methods, and explosive power generation passed down by the grandmasters. We preserve the art exactly as it was meant to be taught: for survival, structure, and mastery.

Welcome to the Kindred Fist Community
In martial arts, you often hear the word "community" applied to a single school or Kwoon. It reminds us that we are part of something much larger than ourselves. But true martial arts knows no borders. The discipline we practice extends far beyond the walls of any one club—it connects our neighborhoods, our cities, and practitioners all over the world.
Kindred Fist is a global, online martial arts community dedicated to the preservation and sharing of traditional systems, history, and philosophy. Whether you are a lifelong teacher, a dedicated student, or someone taking your very first step toward a martial arts lifestyle, our doors are open to you.
To maintain the harmony of this global Kwoon, we expect all members to observe the highest level of martial morality. When you join this community, we ask that you:
Ready to take the first step on your martial arts journey? Contact us today to schedule your first class and start your training with KINDRED FIST Martial Arts.
Martial arts is an individual journey, but it cannot be walked alone. "Kindred Fist" means we are bound together by shared dedication and shared sweat. When you join our Kwoon, you join a brotherhood and sisterhood of martial artists who will push you past your limits, hold you accountable to the Wu De (martial morality), and support your growth both on and off the mat.

Grand Master Ho Lei
The path to mastery is open, but you must take the first step. Are you ready to empty your cup, embrace the discipline, and discover what your mind and body are truly capable of?

"You must first master yourself. Private instruction illuminates the physical and mental blind spots you cannot see alone."
Whether you train with us locally or globally through our Digital Kwoon, you will never be left to figure it out alone. Unlike other online programs where you simply pay to watch passive videos, our curriculum requires accountability. You must submit video assessments of your forms and stances. You do not advance until Sifu Alfred personally reviews your technique, corrects your structure, and grants you permission to move forward. You will earn every single rank.

It is no secret that the right teacher can nourish and help students overcome difficulties to maximize their training, and improve their skills.
The teachers listed with the Kindred Fist martial art community are among some of the most qualified and respected teachers in the martial art field. They are all listed here because of their professionalism, qualifications, experience, reputation, availability, dedication, and knowledge.

The Kindred Fist Martial art community groups maintain high respect for each other and the martial arts. Joining a group can be a great way to learn more about the martial world.

It is always good to share knowledge. Maybe you traveled or learned something new about your martial art system, and you believe someone else can benefit from your knowledge.
Teaching and sharing in martial arts will benefit the student and help the teacher understand old things in a new way.
The Kindred Fist community understands that sharing and learning, teaching and sharing, learning and teaching is a positive approach to building better relations between people.
Friendship is an essential avenue in the growth and development of social interaction. A friend can be someone to support, motivate, encourage and inspire you to do the best you can even when things look dark.
A friend can be there to support and lift you when you fall, help push you forward when you're too exhausted, or be that silent motivator at the right time.
Friends of a martial art community understand the struggles you might face in your training and is the best source of strength in moments of doubt.
Have you read a good book lately, watched a movie or a documentary that inspired you? Have you been to a seminar, traveled to a different country, got an award, aced that black belt test, or want to share some inspiring quotes?
Feel free to share with the community. It is always good to know how well someone is improving or needing positive support. Share something about your martial art system, its philosophy, or history.
It is always a good thing to ask questions. It clarifies the understanding of a subject and eliminates the doubt and confusion of guessing. It is best to use the old saying, "measure twice, cut once."
No one should feel bad about asking a question, and no one should be so offended by being asked a question. What we do not know or understand can easily be explained by others, even if that person is not at your level.
It is sometimes best to take the high road by being silent respond with ignorance to those who are courageously reaching out for knowledge. Always be willing to teach, always be prepared to learn.
We do not just build fighters; we build complete human beings. By integrating the devastating external combat of Lung Ying with the profound internal healing of Tai Chi and Qi Gong, we transform your entire reality. You will develop unbreakable physical confidence, razor-sharp mental focus, and the internal vitality needed to live a long, healthy life.
